Hey, I'm Lee-ann

I've been practicing yoga since 2001, and came into it for the fitness benefits, practicing at home with DVD's. When I began attending regular classes, it started to feel very different and I had an inkling that it wasn't just about improving muscle tone.

I am happy to provide;

  • gentle yoga for adults

  • private yoga tuition

  • yoga to support different physical activities and sports such as cycling and running

  • regular meditation groups

  • corporate yoga, public speaking at functions & conferences

  • small wellness or yoga business coaching

My Story

I studied an NCFE Level 3 qualification in Anatomy & Physiology (just for fun - I find it fascinating!) and on completing the course, I wanted to carry on learning about the human body. It was suggested to me that I might enjoy studying a foundation course in yoga teaching. This piqued my interest, so I started making enquiries. I attended an open day at a yoga teacher training school in Nottingham, and although I wasn't certain if I wanted to teach yoga, I decided that yes, I definitely wanted to know more. On graduation from my 200-hour Teacher Training course with Bahia Yoga, my understanding of this beautiful way of life had developed. I'm passionate about yoga and really want to share it with everyone. So, I have embarked on leading small groups in and around the Hucknall area of Nottingham.

My Qualifications

For peace of mind, I hold valid professional liability insurance with Wellbeing Insurance, organised by DSC Strand Limited and a Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF) Certificate.

I am qualified to instruct children's yoga lessons and pre/ post-natal yoga after completing a Foundation Children's Yoga Teacher Training with YogaBeez in April '16 and Pre and Post-Natal Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training with YogaLondon in June '17.

I'm proud to be an experienced ERYT200 and RPYT member of the Yoga Alliance. I want to keep learning and developing myself; we call it yoga practise, not yoga perfect. I like to encourage the people who attend my groups to give feedback on my teaching, and I attend workshops and training seminars as often as I can. In January 2017, I completed NCFE Level 3 Yoga Teacher course, and I frequently attend these CPD (Continuous Professional Development) courses to further my knowledge and understanding.

My Focus

The focus of my classes is to honour the body, facilitating relaxation to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, greatly benefitting the digestive and immune systems and the overall sense of emotional well-being. Anybody can practice, and I believe that yoga is not just what happens on the mat during a 60-minute class.

As well as physical yoga classes, I offer online yoga tuition and, one of my favourites, written offerings of yoga philosophy in a modern world in the form of newsletters and blog posting. In Nov21, my blog was ranked No13 of the Top 100 UK Yoga Blogs by Feedspot.

I'm dedicated to learning and passionate about whole-body, whole-person wellness, and I am also a sex coach and clinical sexologist in training.
