Children's yoga to ease the SATS tests

It's certainly been a busy time for me since my last blog post! I've had lots of exciting things going on. I feel absolutely privileged to have been into Hucknall National C of E Primary School to give the Year 6's a mini yoga session prior to this year's all-new SATS tests. At ten and eleven years old, they are far too young to be exhibiting symptoms of stress, poor sleep quality, not wanting to go to school. I also loved helping to turn their frowns upside down at their desks immediately before the tests began. I encouraged them to take a deep breath if they came across a tricky question and to smile to themselves, remembering how awesome they all are. They were all beaming as I left and looked quite ready as the papers were being put in front of them. These young folk really are quite amazing and we can learn a lot from them.

If you happen to have a Year 6er or anyone that seems a bit worried, encourage them to sit tall and take a pause to enjoy a deep breath in and a deep breath out. A pause is sometimes all it takes.

Tests do not measure love, compassion, kindness and sparkle, all of which our children have in abundance 🌟
